【摘要】:Saturatedfattyacidssolidifyatahighertemperaturethanunsaturatedfattyacids.Thistestmethodprovidesameansofmeasuringthesolidificationtemperatureofasamplecontainingbothunsaturatedandsaturatedfattyacidsbycoolingthespecimenandmeasuringthetemperatureatwhichsolidificationoccurs.Samplescontaininghigherlevelsofsaturatedacidswillhaveahighertiter(solidificationtemperature)thanthosewithlowerlevelsofsaturatedacids.Waterpresentinthesamplewillraisethetiter,soprovisionsaremadeinthetestmethodtoremovetracesofmoisture.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesolidification(titer)pointoffattyacidsandisapplicabletoallfattyacids.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
